In September the school term started, but for some Cwmtillery children this means a longer journey and a new School. With the closure of Cwmtillery (cock and chick) school, some children now have to travel out of the valley to the new school at Roseheyworth. The latest news on the future of the old school site, is that it is to be used for low density private housing.
On December 6th the Cwmtillery School started its graceful demolition, the site would hopefully make way for a low density private housing site. Unfortunately the night of the 10th saw smoke and flames reduce the School to rubble. What started the fire is unknown but what a tragic end for the School which has served the valley for so many years.
