Gwent Gazette, May 2nd, 2002
The Friends would like to thank everyone for their kind donations, regardless of how large or small, they were all gratefully received. Since starting this project a few months ago, the improvements that have been made are now being noticed by people visiting the churchyard.
The Friends were one of the first churchyards to join the National Federation of Cemetery Friends. They have definitely been recognised by friends in high places, because they are the first in Wales!
Thanks to everyone who bought raffle tickets for the Duck race which was held recently. The lucky Ducks were: 1st Norman Dixon, 2nd A Wright, 3rd R Keech, 4th L Williams.
The working parties take place on the first Sunday of every month from 2-4pm, the next one will be on Sunday 5th May.
Thanks are also sent to Down to Earth of Church Street, Abertillery for their donation of plants for their last working party. Recently they purchased watering cans for people to use. These are placed by the side of the church.
The first newsletter will be sent to members in June.
Finally, please keep our churchyard tidy, use the bins provided, and please close the gate to keep out the sheep. The churchyard now looks tremendous, let's all do our part to keep it this way. Thanks
