The photo is the downtown business district of Edmonton, the Capital city of Alberta, Canada. The city has a population of approximatley 700,00. The river in the photo is the North Saskatchewan River, the source of which comes from the Columbia Icefields in the Rocky Mountains. Edmonton is also home to the world famous, West Edmonton Mall. The summertime can be quite hot weatherwise, but winters can be long cold and snowy, just like this year, where record cold temperatures have been recorded all over Alberta this winter, -30's degrees Celcius, and even colder with windchill.
