Six Bells vs. Newbridge M.B.A Division 3
The Bells travelled down south to near neighbours Newbridge for this division three game and having the greatest of respect for this top flight club and with the Bells needing to maintain their wining ways.
Rink 1
Skip Dean Webley and his lead Sid Martin, second Len Waugh (postie) third Bary Paul set about T.Parker and his men for Newbridge. Biffo's men picked up four shots on the first end, sadly, he did not maintain this advantage through the next nine ends trailing 7 shot to ten down. Pulling back at the 15th 10 to 12 it looked as if something could be pulled out of the hat. Biffo's boys took no further part in the game over the next three ends  when the Bridge boys picked up a five on the eighteenth to lead 20 to 10 all seemed to be lost when the Bells picked up five on the very last end losing the game 18 20 to the Bridge and Biffo's men dreaming of what could have been.
Rink 2
Skip Bary Line ( now days regular) lead Dai Davies, second George Crandon, (with that silly hat) third Jeff Hillier, commenced the game against M.D.Jones and his bowlers. With the dynamic duo Bary and his third Jeff back together, they also picked up four shots on the first end and leading 11 shots to 8 on the tenth. Bary 12 11 up on the thirteenth the game was evenly poised to run to the wire. The game continued in this way with the Bridge picking up three shots on the 15th to bring the score to 15 - 14 to the Bells. On the 16th Bary's bowlers picked up their own three shots, 18-14. It only required a steady hand for Bary to maintain his narrow lead. Scoring only three more shots 2 on the final end brought the Bells it's first 2 league points and the first winning rink albeit, by the closest margin of the day 21 shots to 20.
Rink 3
Skip Ray Taylor, second Ken Rogers, (Sarge) third Les Harber, took on A. Powell and his men in this slightly one sided game. With Tinkers boys up 8 5 on the tenth it only required the Bells to keep plugging away. 10-7 up on the 12th Tinkers boys picked up a 6 on the thirteenth (now who said that's an unlucky number?) to lead 16 - 7 against the Bridge. With some fine bowling from Mr Rogers and the Bridge only scoring six shots over the remaining ends saw the Bells coast to an relatively easy win of 29 to 13 (unlucky for some) and another 2 league points and winning rink the highest of the day.
Rink 4
Skip Michael Hart, lead and reservist Selwyn Smith, second Ray Hodges, third Dave Smith looked as if their recent string of wins would be coming to an abrupt end against Eddy Harding and his boy's for the Bridge. 10 - 1 down on the first five ends saw Mikes thinning hair go even thinner, encouraging his boys to pull them selves up an start playing. Despite some tricky lines on this rink and picking up 4 shots on the 8th to trail  4 shots to 14 gave skip Mike the chance to bring the mat right up in an effort to disrupt the bridge bowlers. The old tactic seemed to work with the Bells now playing catch up to keep the overall win in with a chance. Scoring 5 shots to the 12th end giving the Bells a little light at the end of the tunnel 9 - 15 down. Eddy's boys took the next two ends bringing the score to 19-9 for the Bridge. In a game worthy of the title "The Great Escape" saw the Bells slowly creep into contention to bring the Bells within one shot of a draw on the 20th end 18-19 to the Bridge. With skip Mike Hart now congratulating his bowlers in bringing him back from the brink of total disaster, asked his boys to turn the game over on the last end. Now with all the Bells bowlers having finished their game watching from the side the Frogget (Selwyn) started with two cracking bowls either side of the jack giving the Bells some hope and continuing up to the last wood, when third Dave Smith stepped into the head and asked for four, with Eddy agreeing saw the Bells win the game 22-19. With the news that the Bells had won the game third Dave Smith could no longer contain his elation and jumping some ten feet into the air giving out a ruckus yell of delight.
Final score 90 shots for 72 against and a further 12 league points into the chest.

MBA Over 60's Championship.
The membership would like to pass on their warm congratulations, to Ray Taylor with his win over Malcolm Jones of Newbridge bowls club.

Gwent Bowls League 3 Rink.
With the Bells fielding a full squad again this week, against Newbridge in this back to back game at the park.
Rink 1
Skip Keith Blackman and his squad went down 16 shots to 27 against P. Hinder's men for Newbridge.
Rink 2
Skip Dennis Jull also went down 14 shots to 26 to J. Davies for Newbridge.
Rink 3
Saw skip Glyn Howells make his début as skip in this game against L. Reed. Apparently, Glyn stood the pressure very well and had the closest result of the day losing 12 - 21 giving the Bridge boys a well earned three rink 12 point win over the Bells. If it's any consolation to the Bells, Newbridge returned to their club house in jubilant mood only to discover that their first team had been badly holed below the water line.

Six Bells vs. Pontymister Welfare MBA Division 3 League.
This game took to the green in only what can be described a downpour of epic proportions. With complaints from both sides that the game should not have been played, despite this the Bells have a few bowlers who flourish like little flowers in the rain, it's a great leveller, so with players kitted out in anything that stopped the rain getting in, took to the green.
Rink 1
Skip Tim Phelps, lead Dai Davies, second Len Waugh (postie), third Bary Paul took on S. Lewis and his boys from the welfare. Leading 8 shots to 3 after five ends Tim's men failed to score a single shot for the next five 13 - 3 down to the welfare. With both captains electing to play 15 ends Tim's boys needed to pull themselves together over the next five. The welfare picking up 11 shots on the remaining ends sunk the Bells with some good bowling considering the conditions and on a rink the Bells bowlers would kill for to play on. Final score 24-8 to the welfare along with 2 league points.
Rink 2
Skip Bary Line, lead Sid Martin, second Ken Rogers, third Jeff Hillier took on C. Williams and his men from Pontymister in this close encounter of the wet kind. All square on the eight at 7 all Bary's men picked up six shots up to the tenth to have a lead of 11 shots to welfares 7. with the Bells failing to score another shot until the 14th end would the welfare snatch the game away from Bary and the boys?. With the rain now becoming a really serious problem, and with the single shot for the bells on end 14 Bary and his boys retired to the pavilion wet but winning 14 shots to 11 over the welfare, all square.
Rink 3
Skip Mike Hart, lead Dave Smith, second Ray Hodges, third Des Price took on R. Deere and his merry men for the welfare. Starting well the lead and second for the Bells relishing all the weather could do, gave their skip and third somewhat of an easy ride, they  just had to stand in the rain. Mikes men 12- 1 up on the eighth end had the news that the game had been shortened to 15 ends and despite the disappointment, urged his front men to keep up the performance. Come the ninth end the Bells dropped 2 shots bringing the score to 12-4 for the Bells. With great purpose, Mikes men kept it together, scoring on all the remaining ends winning 24 shots to 4 giving their skip the second highest winning rink for two weeks on the trot.
Rink 4
Skip Ray Taylor, lead Selwyn Smith (complete with sceptic toe), and third Dean Webley, took on the welfares G. Shipp in this close scoring game with the Bells 11 to 7 up on the tenth. With the rain now coming down in biblical proportions and woods aquaplaning all over the green Rays boys managing to score a further three shot to the welfares 2 ran out winners by 14 - 10. With 6 rink points in the bag it only remained to count the shots to see who would have the six points on the game. With both captains now in the club house deciphering ringing wet score cards concurred, that the Bells had won the game by 15 shots and had picked up another good win and 12 league points 25 in two weeks.Final score 63 for 48 against 12 league points.
Six Bells vs. Abercarn GBL Triple Rink League.
Sorry, can't give you any report have no rink cards, possibly to wet to keep. Playing only 15 ends and with a full squad, the Bells lost two rinks and with Keith Blackman, with the only winning rink picked up 2 league points.

Abercarn vs. Six Bells Saturday, 19th April.

In a game that should not have been played, because of the prevailing weather conditions and together with total confusion, as to how many rinks were available. Both captains elected to play eighteen ends. In fairness to Abercarn, they had prepared the after match buffet before the rains came and it would have been remiss not to play a few ends.  The Bells took the chance to blood, sorry, drown a few of its recent signings. Unable, to mark the score cards (they were cast aside to the litter bin)  both teams relying on the score boards to keep a check on the scores. With Glyn Howells (new member) complaining that he could not stick his bowls strips on due to the rain, was advised by the secretary, to wait until July, when the weather should improve. Suffice to say, that due to the lack of score cards I am unable to give individual rink scores so it was an honourable draw and both sides retired to the club house after eighteen ends.

Newbridge vs. Six Bells Wednesday, 23rd April.

The Bells travelled to Newbridge to meet it's many friends and fellow bowlers on a beautiful evening with the green a little heavy even for a green as top class as this one. Again the Bells took the opportunity to field some of it's new players this time in better conditions, where it was hoped, that they would really catch the bowling bug and begin to enjoy the game. With Tim Phelps men R, Sweeting, D. Curtis, R. Everley out on rink four began with both sides scoring one shot for on each end for the first five ends - with the Bells leading by one shot three to two. The game continued in this way for the next fifteen ends when Tim's men picked up three shots to lead twelve shots to eight. Tim's men failed to score for the next two ends picking up one shot on the last to run out winners by thirteen shots to eleven.
Skip Alan Jones junior and his men had a hard time against old friend Malcolm Jones for Newbridge. Skip Alan Jones, Russell Richards, Ken Rogers, Les Harber, were fifteen shots to two down after ten ends and looked like they were playing catch up all game. With the final score 26 shots to eight they retired to the club house. Skip Nye Silverthorne (and after two years in retirement) making a come back this season, again struggled with Newbridge T. Parkers men. Nye, Alan Jones, Derek Tugwell, Keith Blackman, continued the struggle to reach eight shots to sixteen on the fifteenth end and had a lot to do if they were going to pull something out of the bag. Sadly, it was not to be Newbridge ran out worthy winners twenty shots to eight (welcome back Nye). Finally, club mascot Ray Taylor and his men Alan Morgan, Neil Wiltshire, Dave Smith out on rink six was a different story altogether, leading ten shots to zero on the sixth end Tinker looked like cruising to a comfortable win when, things started to go wrong with E. Harding's men picking up seventeen shots on the next nine ends. Was Tinker going to sink on the last few ends? "No way" he said. His men took seven shots on the last few ends, (five on the last) to run out winners twenty shots to seventeen. A well earned result against this top side - two rinks up two down - with an overall shot count of 49 for 76 against -27 shots. Into the club house, where vice captain Les Harber, kept us all smiling with his banter and a joke about three ducks, can't tell you the joke in case it offends.

Pontymister Welfare vs. Six Bells Saturday, 26th April.
Sadly, this game was called off by Pontymister, citing non availability of players.

Newbridge vs. Six Bells Saturday 26th April GBL Triple Rink.

In this inaugural GBL game for the Bells again, travelling to Newbridge. The Bells took the opportunity to give it's recent signings and less experienced players a run out with the welcome return of Sidney Martin (after a few years in retirement) and along with Dennis Jull, - welcome back gentlemen. Skip Sid Martin and his men Dennis Jull, Robert Sweeting, and the irrepressible Selwyn Smith kept in touch all through the game only five shots down on the tenth end. Ten shots to nineteen on the seventeenth end Sid's men picked up four shots bringing the score line to fourteen to nineteen and a possible positive outcome for him. Disappointingly, it  was not to be, with J. Tyler's men running out winners twenty three shots to fifteen. It would have been great if Sid and his men could have pulled one out of the bag on his comeback. Alan Jones junior and his men Les Harber (captain), Derek Curtis, Glyn Howells on the other hand, were leading eight shots to seven on the tenth end against L Reed's men. Lady luck struck again, with Newbridge scoring five shots on the thirteenth end leading now by thirteen shots to nine (I thought thirteen was an unlucky number). With the game finely balanced, Newbridge ran out winners nineteen shots to fifteen. Skip Keith Blackman and his men Russell Richards, Derek Tugwell, Ray Hodges were given a sharp lesson in bowling outdoors loosing thirty one shots to seven. With Newbridge picking up all the points available on the game: for 37 against 73 and along with twelve league points. The Bells reflected on the glaringly obvious fact, that, they have had no green practice as such, with Caerphilly greens open three week ago and the park remaining closed. The only practice the Bells are getting, is during games. Nevertheless, with the green expected to open some time this week, it's all hands to the green for some much needed bowling practice, remember, the only way is up.

Six Bells vs. Abertillery Thursday 1st May

Played on a sunny evening this rearrange game to mark the opening of the recently re-decorated club house five rinks took to the green. out on rink one Nye Silverthorn and his men lead Ray Hodges confused the opposition playing with two woods on loan from Mike Hart, second ken Rogers, third Alan Jones junior. Adding even more confusion Mike Harts men lead Dai Davies (returning from a rib injury) second Derek Tugwell, third Keith Blackman were to represent Abertillery to fill the fifth rink. On the tenth end, Nye Silverthorne's men failed to deliver the killer blow to the opposition when leading twelve shots to seven. The game swayed back and forth through the next eight ends for Mike's men to run out winners 17 shots to 16 the only rink Abertillery would win in this friendly fixture and despite using the Bells bowlers.

Bary Line and his men lead Alan. Jones, second Neil Wiltshire, third Des Price,  on rink 2 started well 7 shots to 2 on the fifth end then dropped four shoots on the sixth end. With Abertillery scoring only 2 shots over the next seven ends the Bells started to pull away leading by 13 shots to 8 on the thirteenth end ( there's that thirteen again). With the score line at 13 all on the fifteenth Bary's men pick up five shots to run out winners 18 shots to 14 against Richard Cooks men,  with a late tactical replacement for Chairman Alan Jones  by Derek Curtis.

Tim Phelps men led by Russell Richards, second Glyn Howells, third Rob Everley. Looking at the score card, they had a right old ding dong of a game. Despite this Tim's men, kept the pressure on throughout the game and always in front. Picking up six shots on the twelfth end to lead 16 to 8 scored another six shots over the next three ends to lead 22 shots to 11. The last three ends saw a bit of an innings collapse by Tim's men failing to score a single shot. Thankfully, the damage had been done winning 22 shots to 17 against Albert Masons men.

Biffos men on rink 4 lead Selwyn Smith, second George Crandon, third Len Waugh took on the world famous Reg Bowdler's men. With (so I have been told) Reg putting in blockers early and failing to reach the head gave Biffos men problems being down 8 shot to 1 on the seventh end. Something must have clicked for the Bells scoring twelve shots up to the fifteenth end, the game was poised at the Bells 13 to Abertillery's 12 shots Biffo's men stiffened their resolve, picking up a further four shot on the remaining ends to run out winners by 17 shots to 13 (there's that number again).

Out in sticks of rink 5 RayTaylors men lead Alan Morgan, second Rob Sweeting, third Les Harber took on Gethin Hucker's (chairman West Mon BA). With Gethin's men stuttering on 2.2.2.2.2.2.2.2.2 up to the tenth end gave skip Ray probably the easiest game of the evening, given this golden opportunity and leading 16 shot to 2 on the tenth failed to kill off the opposition and Gethin's men took hold of the game by the scuff of the neck scoring 15 shots over the next eight ends nearly pinching the game at the last breath losing 17 shots to Tinkers 19 shots unlucky Gethin. Man of the match Rob Sweetin, alias, the "Dark Destroyer," put in a splendid performance tonight.

The game over both teams retired to the club house for food and liquid refreshments. Final score, Six Bells 92 shots to Abertillery 78 shots + 14. Pleasing news for the Bells seeing 26 squad members turn out for the game. Keep it up lads.

President Len Evans, gave the speech welcoming Abertillery to the park and along with his usual inimitable style, kept us all enthralled with his little anecdotes and thanking all those responsible for the decoration and repairs to the club house.

Six Bells vs. Crosskeys WBA Carruthers Challenge Shield.

In this the first round of the WBA Carruthers Shield Crosskeys arrived at the park in confident mood. They came, they saw, but did not conquer.
Rink 1
Skip Dean Webley, lead Selwyn Smith, second George Crandon, third Robert Everley took on R Bryant's men for the Keys. At five ends the game was close the Bells leading by a single shot 6-5. It was then the turn of the Keys to go in front on the tenth 11-7. Biffo's men brought this back to 14-15 on the 15th, picking up a 4 and a 2 on the 16th 17th end saw the Bells leading 20-15 was this an omen?. With both side picking up two point apiece over the last three ends, saw a magnificent win by Biffo's boys 22-17.
Rink 2.
Skip Bary Line's men started well scoring from the onset of the game and keeping in top of the game. Lead Alan Morgan, second Ken Rogers, third Des Price drawing level with Crosskeys skip A Bushell's men eight shots all on the tenth. Sticking to the task the Bells kept in touch dropping only five shots in the next five ends ten thirteen to Crosskeys. Bary's men dug deep to pick up six shots on the next six ends to run out winners by 16 shots to 14 for the Keys one rink won and in the bag.
Rink 3
Skip Bary Paul ably supported by lead Dai Davies, second Sid Martin, and last but not least Alan Jones junior set about Crosskeys skip N. Bushell's men failing to score on the first five ends except for one lowly shot to the Key's seven. Nerves settled, and over the next ten ends scored eighteen shots to give Bary a good lead of 19 shots to 12. Slipping somewhat over the final six ends and scoring only three shots, the Bells ran out winners 22 shots to the Keys 19 shots another winning rink.
Rink 4
Skip Mike Hart's men came out of the blocks to lead seven shots to three over S. Bushells men on the fifth end. With the game swinging back and forth the Bells scored seven shots over the next few ends to lead 16 shots to 12 at the fifteenth. Lead Ray Hodges, second Keith Blackman, third Len Waugh had to play with 100% concentration and encouraged by skip Mike Hart, the game came to a draw seventeen all on the eighteenth end. The pressure was on the Bells to pull something out of the bag to win this rink. With the Bells picking up only 2 shots on the final three ends and the Keys picking up 2 shots the game eventually ended in an 19 all draw. A fitting result for a hard fought game by both teams. As a famous Roman Centurion once said "They came, they saw, but did not conquer" If nothing else, a well earned win over the Keys a division 1 side by 10 shots.

Six Bells vs. Blaina West Mon BA.

This the first game of the season and in the WMBA league, gave the Bells a chance to field some of it's less experienced bowlers on a pleasant evening and in glorious  evening sunshine at Blaina.
Rink 1
Skipped by Dean Webley, lead Alan Jones, second Robert Sweeting and third Len Waugh, took on S Williams and his men in what was to prove to be a disaster rink wise for the Bells. Scoring only five shots over fifteen ends to Blaina's twenty eight it looked as if the wheels had come off for Biffo's men. Desperately trying to save some face Biffo's men scored one more shot to lose six shots to thirty four and accepted the innings defeat and retired to the club house.
Rink 2
Skip Michael Hart looked to be heading in the same direction scoring only six shots to Blaina's thirteen on end ten. Staging a somewhat late revival, Mike's men picked up six shots on end thirteen and fourteen, bringing the score to twelve eighteen on end 15. Despite efforts from lead Dai Davies and Derek Curtis, also third Des Price scoring a further three shots on the remaining ends Mike's men managed a respectable 15 shots to Blaina's 19.
Rink 3
Skip Ray Taylor's men lead Dai Smith second Glyn Howells third A.R.Jones had a game against C. Wall that looked if the score was being recorded in binary 01 01 01 01 (looked a little like a digital TV signal). Nine all on the tenth end neither side looked capable of escaping this one shot per end escapade. The Blaina scored eight shots over the next few ends to lead seventeen eleven on the fifteenth. With Blaina picking up four shots to the Bells two Blaina ran out winners 21 shots to 13.
Rink 4
Tim Phelps and his boys lead George Crandon, second Russell Richards, third Robert Everley again had a strange looking score card against D.Cordings men it seemed the card was full of little fat ladies from end twelve and stayed that way to end eighteen with Blaina running out winners 23 shots to eight.

Six Bells vs. Chepstow WBA Carruthers Challenge Shield 2nd round.

Off we went after retrieving our hired coach from Abertillery Park, and  after the driver had been given directions by our famous bus driver Selwyn Smith to pick the team up at the park, neglecting to tell the driver Six Bells Park. Travelling with the recent win over Cross Keys the Bells were in a winning frame of mind.
Rink 1
Mike Harts men lead Selwyn Smith (yes that's him) second Derek Tugwell, third Keith Blackman playing against M. Dick for Chepstow failed to score a shot on the first six ends on a heavy and tricky green. All did not look well for Mike, then, staging quite a come back scored 14 shots up to the eighteenth end - no mean fete on this tricky green - and brought the game to 15 to 16 shots for Chepstow, a possible draw looked on the books. Then Chepstow scored a further shot to lead 17 shots to 15 on the nineteenth end it looked doubtful that Mike's men would pull off the draw, but, to their credit, they stuck to the guns and scored three shots on the final ends to win buy 18 shots to 17 a lead of one shot and the only winning rink of the day.
Rink 2
Skip Ray Taylor's men lead Dai Davies, second George Crandon, third Len Waugh had a similar start to his game being down six shots to 1 after five ends. Experienced bowlers will tell you that after five ends you should have mastered the green. This turned out to be true with Ray's men pulling back thirteen shots up to the sixteenth end to bring the score to fourteen shots all. Tinkers men picked up a further four shots over the next three ends to lead 18 shots to 16 and only needing to keep their heads looked as if another rink win was on the books. Sadly, dropping five shots on the last two ends came second to Chepstow skip A. Stall 21 to 18.
Rink 3
Skip Bary Line had the worse day of the match with lead Ray Hodges second Ken Rogers, third Des Price failed to play to their usual standard on a rink that was nothing short of a stinker to put it mildly. To the credit of P. Williams men that stuck to the task and despite only five ends scoring into second figures and three shots the highest began a long old struggle. The Bells were up against it, trailing 11 shots to 6 on the fifteenth end and scoring only 2 more shots to lose 8 to 17 and with heavy hearts and fears of letting the Bells down.
Rink 4
Skip Dean Webley and his men, lead Dai Smith second Derek Curtis, third Bary Paul were our only hope now of pulling something out of the bag at the last minute. Even Biffo's men down 5 shots to 10 must have thought it's over. Losing 9 shots to 16 on the fifteenth end all looked lost. With the old adage of it isn't over till the fat lady sings and true to form, Biffo's men staged a dramatic comeback scoring 11 shots over the last six ends to draw the game 20 shots to 20 for Chepstow. Nevertheless, the damage had been done, if only Bary Line's men had come somewhere near it could have been a different result as it was, Chepstow ran out winners 75 shots to 64 leaving us to win the next round with a deficit of 1 shot overall.

Six Bells vs. Brynmawr WMBA League.
Long standing friends from Brynmawr travelling south for a change on this fine evening at the park.
Rink 1
Again the Bells threw in their least experienced players to give everybody a game for the week. Skip Alan R Jones drew the short straw to play G.Gongreve on rink one. Lead Dai Davies and late entry Graham Evans, third Keith Blackman went into the tenth end 8 shots to 14 down. Scoring only one shot over the next five ends to bring the score to 20 shots to 9 down. Alan's men staged a late comeback on the last three scoring four shots to go out losing 20 shots to 13.
Rink 2
Saw skip Dean Webley take on Peter Carey's men. Lead Ken Rogers, second Alan Jones, third Nye Silverthorne were five shots adrift on the tenth 4 shots to 9 down. With Biffo's men managing to score only six shots over the next eight ends lost the game 11 to 20 down.
Rink 3
Skip Tim Phelps and his men lead Derek Tugwell, second Robert Sweeting, third Robert Everley played skip A. Williams men scoring steadily though-out the game were 7 shots to 11 down on the tenth. Tim's men scoring only three further shots on the fourteenth and down 10 to 15 and Brynmawr scoring four shots to the Bells one run out winners 19 shots to 11.
Rink 4
Come the hour, Des Price and his men lead Ray Hodges, second Russell Richards, third Les Harber playing and incurring the wrath of the world famous Eddy George. With the Bells holding a lead of one shot at the tenth 9 to 8 Eddy started to slow the game down in an effort to gain advantage. With the sun long gone down and the fear of frost bite setting in the game continued. The Bells now leading 16 to 9 on the fifteenth and all the other rinks inside in the warm of the clubhouse we began to feel the cold and wished the game would end soon. The Bells determined not to lose the game tried to keep the opposition down to one shot over the next three ends and hopefully win. With Eddy George's side requiring three shot to win or 2 to draw the last end was played. With 2 good woods in the head lead and second retired to the other end. Third Mike Lane for Brynmawr put in a shot holding one with his last wood it only remained for Eddy to score with his final two woods to win. This was not to be placing only one of his woods into the head Brynmawr scored 2 shots to lose 16 shots to 15 and 2 league points for the Bells.

Six Bells vs. Belle Vue WBA Carruthers Shield 2nd Round.
The Bells Needing to win this game to stay in the competition.
Rink 1
Skip Bary Line's men were 5 shots to 2 up on the fifth end only to drop two 4's over the next five ends. With Belle Vue scoring 9 shots over the next five ends all was doom and gloom for Bary's boys down 20 shot to 9 on the fifteenth, Lead Les Harber, second, Keith Blackman, third Bary Paul needed pull something special out of the bag. It was not to be with Belle Vue skip P. Burrows men running out winners by a wide margin of 29 shots to 13 that dreaded number again.
Rink 2
Skip Michael Hart's men faired even worse being 6 - 13 on the tenth end and with everything going black. It took Mike's men lead Alan Jones junior, second George Crandon, third Nye Silverthorne until the 18th end to add to their score bringing it to 19 - 9 for Belle Vue. With Belle Vue picking up three shots on the last three ends put Mike's men out of their misery winning 22 - 9 for M. Stead's men.
Rink 3
Hooray! for Tinkers men. Rays Boys, lead Dai Davies, second Glyn Howells, third Dean Webley picked up 4 shots on the first end and 2 on the second were surprised to find themselves 8 shots to 2 up on the fifth. Continuing, to pick up 9 shots over the next five seen Rays men leading 17 shots to 5 on the tenth and a win was on the books for Ray. 25 shots to 7 on the sixteenth all looked rosy except, the wheels appeared to come off over the next five ends, with the Vue picking up five shots one per end and with Ray's boys limiting them to single shots the Bells running out winners 25 - 12 to H. Jones Men (well done Tinker).
Rink 4
With all the pressure on Tim Phelps and his lead the irrepressible Selwyn Smith, second Derek Curtis, third Rob Everley to at least try and put a dent in the lead of 16 shots to Belle Vue. Starting well, Tim's men were 4-2 shots up on the fifth end and the nip and tuck game continued in this way up to the tenth the Bells leading 9 shots to 6. With the Bells scoring 5 shots on the thirteenth (that number again) end, the Bells took no further part in the game with Belle Vue picking up 20 shots over the remaining ends running out winners 30 shots to 14 for K. Gripton's men. Final score 61 for 93 against and all hopes for the Bells gone.

Six Bells vs. Cwm WMBA League.
Second game in this league the Bells were away to Cwm.
Rink 1
What a turn around for Ray Taylor hero of last weeks game, came up against a brick wall in the shape of J. Williams men for the Cwm, leading by 8 - 4 on the fifth end. Ray's men lead R.Richards, second Bob Sweeting, third Sid Martin fail to score a single shot until the fifteenth end when they picked up 3 shots making the score 24 - 7 to the Cwm. Like a flickering candle, the Bells went out picking up 4 shots on the last end giving the Cwm the rink 11 shots to 25.
Rink 2
New kid on the block skip Des Price and his men lead Alan Morgan, second chairman, A.Jones, third Les Harber looked good on paper (blue paper). It needed someone to set alight to it, scoring 1 shot on the first end then failed to score a single shot until the seventh and down 2-14. The Bells went off like somewhat of a damp squib fizzling out 12 - 21 to the Cwm.
Rink 3
Tim Phelps men lead Ray Hodges, second Ken Rogers, third Len Waugh (postie) gave D. Bavcock's men a run for their money being 11 - 7 up on the tenth end. Continuing to pick up single shots both sides crept along at a snails pace arriving at 14 all on the fifteenth. Then came the command from skip Tim if things did not improve heads would roll. With five shots over the last three ends the Bells managed to win 19 shots 16.
Rink 4

Narrowing the gap somewhat the Bells were 7 - 10 down on the tenth. The three shot deficit continued up to the fifteenth. Both teams picking up shots over the next six ends saw Pontymister win by 22 - 19 shots continuing the three shot difference.
Rink 2
Dave Smiths boys lead Glyn Howells, second Derek Tugwell, third Dai Davies failed to score anything on the first 5 ends down by nine shots. From the sixth the only way for the Bells, was up, scoring ten shots up to the fifteenth trailing 10 to 15 things looked a little more respectable. With the Bells picking up 7 shots on the remaining end gave new kid on the block Dave Smith his first win as skip by 17 - 16 the narrowest of wins but a win nonetheless.
Rink 3
Skip Len Waugh (Postie) men lead Selwyn Smith, second Russell Richards, third chairman Alan Jones were again slightly adrift 10 - 13 down on the tenth failed to deliver the killer punch and ran out losing 24 - 19 to Pontymister. Six Bells vs. Garndiffaith Friendly Home
In this long standing fixture gave the Bells a welcome relief from competitive bowls a chance to meet some old friends and hopefully, a few new ones.
Rink 1
Skip Bary Line and his men lead Derek Curtis, second Ken Rogers, third Jeff Hillier drew 5 all on the fifth end against J. Harris and his men. With the Bells leading 22 - 12 on the 15th the game looked to be in the bag. With the old saying "never count your chickens till they hatch" proved to be true when the Garn stage a comeback bringing the score to 20 - 23 on the 20th end dropping 1 shot on the last to give Bary his win 24 shots to 20.
Rink 2
Skip Des Price and his merry men, lead Ray Hodges, second John Munn, third Les Harber, got stuck in the rut of scoring one shot per end up to the seventh and leading 6-2 against B. Price and his boys. Continuing to swing back and forth the game changing hands up to the 12th when the Bells dumfounded themselves by picking up 10 shots on the next three ends only to go back to sleep for the next 4 giving the Garn a chance to pinch the game. Scoring 1 shot on the last end the Bells avoided giving the Garn a draw and winning 18 shot 17.
Rink 3
Mike Harts men lead Alan Morgan, second Dennis Jull (the winglishman), third Sid Martin started with a bit of a stttutter leading 8 shots to 6 on the tenth against C White boys. Don't panic!! Mikes boys had a  lead on the 15th, 14 shots to 9. Again the Bells started stttuttering! and the Garn bringing the game to 17 15 to the Garn on the 19th only to be defeated by Mikes men picking up 3 shots on the last end winning 18 - 17.
Rink 6
With Captain Biffo and his boys, lead Neil Wiltshire, second Graham Evans, third Bary Paul and playing G Wall from the Garn way out in the sticks on rink six, where you can see tomorrows weather coming were leading 6-1 on the 5th end. Final score 87 for 65 against a well deserved win.

Six Bells vs. Ebbw Vale Welfare WMBA League.
With everybody wearing life jackets and life boats at the ready, both captains elected to play 15 ends in the pouring rain.
Rink 1
Mike Harts boys lead Alan Morgan, second Ray Hodges, third Des Price started well being 7-0 up on the 6th end and against R. Hayward's men. It was never going to be easy in these conditions 8 - 3 up on the 10th the Bells had only to keep it tight to win the game. Running out winners by 11 shots to 6 Mikes boys retired to the changing rooms to dry out and a change of clothes.
Rink 2
Captain Biffos men lead Glyn Howells, second Alan Jones chairman, third Dave Smith had a damp start down 7-1 to the Welfare on end five. By end ten things looked a little better for the Bells 9 - 7 up. The welfare drew level on the 11th 11 all. With the Bells picking up 10 shots over the remaining ends to win 17 shots to 13 against J. Ridley's men.
Rink 3
Tim Phelps and his men lead Derek Curtis, second Ken Rogers, third Len Waugh (postie) had a uphill struggle against J. Short's boys 14-1 down (a stewards enquiry will take place when the rain stops). With the welfare continuing to pile on the misery they ran out worthy winners 17 - 4 saving the whitewash for the welfare.
Rink 4
Skip Nye Silverthorne and his band of misfits lead Dai Davies second Russell Richards, third Alan R Jones commenced battle with C. Salkeld and his band of men. With Nye's men down 5-8 on the 5th and drawing level on the 11th started to put a few shots together picking up six shots to win the game 14-10. Six Bells vs. Panteg Park Away MBA Division 3 League.
Off we go for this the first game of the season in the MBA league.
Rink 1
Skip Bary Line's line up for today lead Les Harber, second Len Waugh (postie) third Des Price started well 6 - 2 up on the first five ends. Continuing in this frame of mind Bary's boys found themselves 17 - 12 up against R. Jones for the Park. With the game finely balanced on the 20th 21-17  the Park sprang a nasty surprise on the Bells picking up three shots on the last end only for the Bells to pinch the game 21-20 phew!!
Rink 2
Skip Mike Hart and his boys lead Dave Smith, second Ray Hodges, third Alan R Jones playing against J. Lewis for the Park had to keep their minds and all their concentration on the game keeping focused on the jack at all times. Always in the driving seat albeit by one or two shots Mikes men continued the battle on a green with some funny lumps in it, bowl to tight and across the head it goes, bowl to wide and it sat on the ridge and made no attempt to draw to the kitty. Leading on the 15th by 11-8 the Bells had only to remain totally focused. Dropping three shots to level the game 11 all. Mike remonstrated with his bowlers to keep the game at hand in mind. Never able to pull away from the Park the Bells finally ran out winners 15 - 13 much to the relief of skip Mike and his boys now looking a little shell shocked.
Rink 3
Skip Tim Phelps men had a tectonic struggle with J. Berry's men leading by the narrowest of leads 11-7 on the 10th end. Picking up 4 shots on the 15th skip Tim's men lead Dai Davies, second Ken Rogers, third Rob Everley opened up a small lead 17 - 13 only to see the Park do the same on end 18 to go into the lead 20 18. The Park scored a further 2 shots on end 19 to go ahead 22 18 and it looked like the Bells ship was sinking with the loss of all hands, but wait a moment, remember the "chicken", the Bells made a tremendous come back picking up six shots to win by one shot 23-22 phew!! again.
Rink 4
Skip Dean Webley and his boys lead Selwyn Smith, second Glyn Howells, third Bary Paul. Captain Biffo stood on the poop deck watching his ship letting in water all through the game. Managing to keep the shot count down drawing 7 shots all on the 9th and despite some valiant bailing, the ship continued it's trip towards Davy Jones locker, down 15 11 on the 17th. Biffo's men had to dig deep to keep the shot count down for the other three rinks and the game. The Bells picked up 4 shots on the 19th to take the lead 17 - 15 (keep bailing boys) then the ship sank to the gunnels on the 20th when the Park picked up 6 shots and Captain Biffo sank without trace on the 21st picking up 1 shot before going under. With the score 18 - 21 had Captain Biffo don enough, with frantic counting and mutterings it emerged that the Bells had won the game with the final score 77 for 76 against (a reversal of last seasons result) and to much jubilation the Bells had done it along with 12 league points.

Six Bells vs. Llanhilleth WMBA League.
Travelling south for this West Mon game and to close neighbours and friends Llanhilleth (sometimes referred to as the Capital of Abertillery) on a lovely evening for a change and a after match tea of Byron Booth's famous sausage butties.
Rink 1
The fantastic four!! Skip Mike Hart, lead George Crandon, second Ray Hodges, third Les Harber started at a snails pace down 2 shots to 4 on the 6th end against a strong combination of skip Brian Green, B. Booth, B. Price, L. Bowd. The Bells kept the game at hand on their mind leading 12-9 on the 15th. Now with the feeling of home and dry, for the next three ends and with Llan picking up 2 shots on the last end, the Bells winning 15 - 11.
Rink 2
Skip Dean Webley men remained on 2 shots for the first ten ends against T. Tranter's boys 13 2 down. Lead Glyn Howells, second Bob Sweeting third Alan R Jones staged somewhat of a come back over the next five ends to go into the lead 14 13 sadly this last attempt to recover was snuffed out on the seventeenth when the Llan picked up 5 shots going into the final end 20 - 14 up. Biffo's men and despite picking one shot on the last ran out losing 20- 15.
Rink 3
Skip Rob Everley had a similar experience 7 12 down on the tenth. Again lead Dave Smith, second Derek Cutis, third Des Price picked up eight shots at the 15th to bring the score to 15 19 to M Blanche and team. Scoring only one more shot on the last end Bob's men ran out 16-23 to the Llan.
Rink 4
Skip Ray Taylor, lead Dai Davies, second Russell Richards, third Len Waugh (postie) had a similar game drawing 6 all on the tenth then went to sleep scoring seven shots on the last eight ends against Lee Bowen's men. Final result the Bells 13 (that number again) the Llan 17 a close call. A much needed win by the Llan but no good to the Bells 59 for 71 against 2 league points.

Six Bells vs. Chepstow Monmouthshire Cup Away
With this the second trip to Chepstow and the President, Secretary, Derek Curtis sat around the table out in the sun on a splendid evening, discussing the finer art of cricket taking part in the field next to the green. Sipping tea and biscuits provided by a lady committee member, who Len proposed to immediately, only to be turned down flat. Anyway, on with the motley.
Rink 1
Skip Tim Phelps, lead Dai Davies, second Alan Morgan, third Alan. R. Jones were 5 shots to 4 up on the first five ends and continued to score steadily 8-4 up on the seventh then dropped a six  and did not recover until the 11th. Down 13- 9 to K. Bolton's men. Drawing level 13 all on the 13th end (can't get away from that number) scored only one shot on the final end to go down 21-14 to K Bolton's rink.
Rink 2
Captain Dean's men, lead Les Harber, second Ken Rogers, third Bary Paul always lagged behind A. Starr's men (wonder if he's related to Ringo) 9 shots to 17 on the tenth. Biffos men picked up 10 shots to the 18th but ended losing 19-24. Close.
Rink 3
Skip Nye Silverthorne men lead Selwyn Smith, second Keith Blackman, third Sid Martin (old titanium knees) started with 2 shots on the first end and didn't score again until the tenth, doubling their score to 4 shots to K. Starr's team 16 shots. Failing to score on any end other than the 20th picking up another 2 shots to 28. Nye's men retired to the clubhouse heads slung low.
Rink 4
Cometh the hour cometh the skip. Mike Hart and his misfits lead George Crandon, second Len Waugh (postie) third Des Price saved a total whitewash scoring 10 to skip C. Davies Chepstow's  fat zero. Mike's men kept the score board turning over leading 16-10 on the 15th scoring 4 shots on the remaining three ends Mike's men received a small ovation from the side, being the only winning rink tonight, (saving a whitewashes ). A splendiferous evening and after match chat at the nearby Athletic Club, a few pints of Flowers Pale Ale and watching the remaining overs played out on the cricket field.

Six Bells vs. Monmouth MBA Division 3 Home
Sorry have no rink cards for this game. Suffice to say, the Bells played one player short due to player dropping out at the last minute. Final score 54 for 78 against the Bells picking up 2 league points.

Six Bells vs. Bailey Park Away GBL Triple Rink.
Rink 1
Skip Dennis Jul lead Graham Evans, second Russell Richards, third Ray Hodges took on R. Lewis and his men on a green that bowled like a dream and on a beautiful sunny day. The Bells were a little slow to start 5 - 1 down on the 5th pulling a further 4 shots over the next 5 to bring the score to 5 10 down on the tenth. The next five ends belonged to the Bells picking up 5 shots on end 11 bringing the score to 17 - 10 on the 16th. With the Bells and Bailey Park scoring four shots over the remaining end the Bells running out 20-14 winners.
Rink 2
Skip Alan Jones, lead George Crandon, second Robert Sweeting, and new member Martin Jones took on C. Jones and his men. Scoring only one shot on the first five ends the Bells were 9-1 down and looked like they were going to be playing catch up bowls. 13-19 down on the 16th Alan's boys staged a little bit of a comeback scoring 4 shot to bring the score to 18-19 would there be an upset?. Sadly, this was not to be the Park picking up six shots to win 25-18.
Rink 3
Skip Keith Blackman playing one man short, gave a good account with lead Derek Tugwell, third Alan Morgan 8-3 up on the 5th. The next five ends were all the Park, with the Bells only picking up one shots to arrive at 14-9 down. Finely poised at 17-19 at 15 ends the last five belonged to the Bells scoring five single shots to bring the score to 22-20 to the Bells. In came the 25% rule and the Bells lost 16.5 to 20 for the Park. Final score 54.5 for 59 against and 2 league points for the Bells.

Six Bells vs. Nant-y-glo Home WMBA League.
Rink 1
Skip Mike Hart, lead Dave Smith, second A. Jones (Chairman) third Alan R Jones seemed to making short shrift of T. Jacob's men on rink one, 11 shots to 3 on the 5th end. Slipping slightly over the next five, but still in the lead 14-7. Mike's men scoring 9 shots over the next eight ends, ran out winners slightly shocked at the ease of the win 23 12.
Rink 2
Skip Tim Phelps and his boys lead Dai Davies, second Ray Hodges, third Rob Everely were even more shocked being 14-4 up on D. Williams men on the tenth. Questions were asked what has happened to the Glo?. With the Glo scoring only three shots on the remaining ends with the Bells running out by the largest margin of the night 21-7.
Rink 3
Skip Des Price lead Alan Moran, second Ken Rogers third Nye Silverthorne received some of the shock dished out by the Bells on the previous 2 rinks. Struggling 6-18 down to John Bray and his men. Holding the Glo to single shots, Des and his happy band, started to pick up - scoring 9 shots at the eighteenth - to bring the game to an 15-22 win for the Glo.
Rink 4
Skip Ray Taylor, lead George (we can't afford to drop him) Crandon, second Keith Blackman, third Les Harber, a formidable side on paper (brown paper). 11 shots to 6 up on end 5 went from strength to strength leading 17-8. Again Ray's men kept the Glo to single shots and putting 6 extra shots on their own total, winning 23 - 14.
Final result the Bells 82 shots to the Glo 55 and 12 much needed league points for the Bells.

Six Bells vs. Abergavenny Avenue Away GBL Triple Rink League
With it's friendly against Cwmbran Park cancelled due to poor support from the membership, the Bells set off for Abergavenny with a slightly stronger side than usual in this GBL game.
Rink 1
Skip Keith Blackman, lead Glyn Howells, second Russell Richards, third Ray Hodges started well against E. Watkins team, always going to be up against it and playing one player short. With the Bells 6-2 up on the 5th end. The Bells failed to get any shots in the head for the next four ends, thanks to some demon bowling by lead John Exton 82 years young and bowling with three woods. The Bells 7- 9 down on the tenth had to stiffen their resolve then leading 15 10 on the 15th end with Glyn Howells dodging low flying cricket balls, going for six over the green. Abergavenny skip E. Watkins saying it can get like world war three on the rinks some Saturday, afternoons. Any road up, to continue, the Bells leading 19 10 on the 19th then their jaws dropped,  the Ave picking up  5 shots to bring the game to 19 - 16. In the end the Bells ran out winners 19-17 on the final end. With 25% of their points deducted, saw Abergavenny lose by 19 shots to 13.75.
Rink 2
Chairman and skip Alan Jones, lead Derek Curtis, second K.Rogers, third Robert Sweeting, came out of the blocks firing on all cylinders 10-4 up on D. Powell and his team. The Bells failed to deliver the killer punch and did not score another shot until the 14th, down now 13-18. Dropping a 4 and a 3 over the next seven ends saw the Bells finally loose 19 shots to 26.
Rink 3
Skip Dai Davies, lead Martin Jones ( new signing) second Alan Morgan, third George Crandon 5-4 up on the 5th, settled into what appeared to be a low scoring game 13-11 up on the 15th. With the Bells scoring 10 further shots over the final six ends proved them all wrong, with the result, the Bells 23 W Cooke's men 17. Final scores For 61 Against 56.75 and 10 league points in the bag.
With the bowlers retiring to the clubhouse, all commented what a splendid atmosphere the three rinks played under, with the Bells looking forward to the splendid tea provided and the return match at the park.

Six Bells vs. Rhymney Royal Away WMBA League.
Atrocious weather conditions prevailed through out this game and was not conducive to the game of bowls. Still the game went ahead.
Rink 1
Skip Tim Phelps, lead Dai Davies, second Robert Sweeting, third Les Harber took on K. Bartlett and his boys, drawing 3 shots all on the 5th. Tim's men started to pull away from the Royals, to lead 11-3 on the tenth, keeping pressure on Bartlett's boys. The Bells leading now by 17- 4 on the 15th, just had to hold the shot count down to be in with a chance. With the Royals picking up only a further 2 shots, Tim's men ran out winners by 18 shots to 8 two league points in the bag.
 Rink 2
Skip Ray Taylor, lead Alan Morgan, second Russell Richards, third Nye Silverthorne had a very close game 10-9 up on the 13th end and picking up a five on the 14th, to led 15-9. With the Royals picking up five shots over the remaining ends and Tinkers boys managing to claim one shot on the 17th, the game ran out in favour of the Bells 16-14 a very narrow squeak against A.Jenkins for the Royals. A further 2 league points into the bag.
Rink 3
Skip Dean Webley, lead Sid Martin, second Dave Smith, third Len Waugh, (postie 1st class) scored 2 shots on the first two ends and had a very lean time for the next ten ends, being 11-4 down against J.C.Evans for the Royals. With Biffo's boys picking up seven shots on the remaining ends (and regretting the lost earlier ends) lost to the Royals 11-15.
Rink 4
Skip Mike Hart, lead George Crandon, second Ray Hodges, third Keith Blackman had a similar bad start scoring 11 shots to 18 against P. Cosh for the Royals. Scoring only a further two shots Mike's men ran out losing 13 - 23.
With all but one rink in out of the rain, Tinkers boy's were waiting for the measure for shot on the last end, only to lose the shot on the measure by a smidging. The final result: for 59 against 60 what a difference a few more shots would have made. The Bells came away with 4 league points.

Six Bells vs. Abercarn Home Friendly.
Rink 1
Saw Ray Hodges at skip, Alan Morgan lead, Robert Sweeting second, third Russell Richards should have been in reserve, but with Abercarn thinking it was a GBL game, only brought twelve players with them, so the reserves made up the forth rink against a loaded rink in the form of skip Keith Blackman, playing for Abercarn. The Bells being 8-12 down and the only thing going for them, was that they paid no rink fees and were due a drink each off the opposition at the end of the game. Retire to the club house for their reward the Bells lost by six shots a result of 11 shots for 17 against. And it was to be the only winning rink for the Carn on the green tonight.
Rink2
Skip Alan. R .Jones , lead Selwyn .Smith, second Ken. Rogers, third Les. Harber took on N. Silverthorne (no not our Nye) and his boys. With the Bells leading 9 shots to 4 on the tenth and still everything to play for, the Bells started to pull away leading 15-9 on the 16th. The Carn started to try and make a comeback, scoring 5 shots on the 19th but was quickly snuffed out, when the Bells picked up six shots on the last two ends winning 22-14.
Rink 3
Skip Bary Paul, lead Sid Martin, second Alan Jones (chairman), third Dave Smith started fairly well against G. Winstone for the Carn 7 shots to 4 up on the 5th. Bary's men then started the onslaught picking up twenty shots up to the 17th to lead 26-11. With the Carn managing to score only a single shot, the day belonged to Bary (Bazz) and his boys, a good win 38-12. Well done.
Rink 4
Skip Dean Webley, lead George Crandon, second Martin Jones (gaining more experience by the minute), third Len Waugh, (postie first class), had a slightly jittery start 3 all on the 5th. Picking up seven shots over the next five ends and with all signs of the jitters disappearing. On the 20th captain Biffo had a score of 23-13 picking up three shots on the last end  to run out 26 to the Carn's 13 (that number again). Result: for 97 against 56 (should do our shot difference a lot of good).

Six Bells vs. RTB's WMBA Home.
With RTB's reputation preceding them, the Bells made the decision to play this game the tennis court way, (tight on the backhand a big swinger on the other).
Rink 1
Skip Les Harber lead Dai Davies, second Alan Jones (chairman), third Dave Smith (in waiting), playing local boy and skip Lee Thomas and his men. With the Bells seven shots to five down on the 5th some steely resolve was required from Les and his boys. End 11 saw a little chink in the armour of RTB's when the Bells went into the lead 12-10. With the game continuing to change at every end, the game came to a draw 14 all on the 15th end. The Bells picking up 3 shots on the 16th 17-14 it only remained for the Bells to hold steady to win the game. Notwithstanding, that the Bells scored a single shot on the 17th end and with RTB's having the final say by scoring a single shot on the last, saw the Bells run out winning 18-15 two league points in the bag.
Rink 2
Skip Tim Phelps, lead George Crandon, second Martin Jones, third Len Waugh (postie first class) playing against the rink of Robert Price. Lead George in his own imitable style, played the jack to his own length despite complaints from his skip. 7-3 up on the first 5 ends, the Bells could not believe their luck against this formidable team. They were further surprised, to find themselves 14- 5 up after 10 ends. At the eighteenth, elation started to creep in, when the Bells found they had won the game 22 shots to 13 and due in no small part, by the performance of Tim's front men.
Rink 3
Skip and Captain Biffo's men lead Alan Morgan, second Russell Richards, third Sid Martin were down 7-12 at the tenth and up against it. With RTB's skip R. Walters men scoring only two shots on the next five, gave Biffo his chance. At the 15th end, the Bells sneaking the lead 17-14, it looked as if he and his men had done the trick. The 17th end saw the Bells pick up one shot, 18-15 only to see RTB's, pick up 3 shots on the last to deprive Biffo's men of their glory. A honourable draw was announced, at 18 shots all. One point into the bag.
Rink 4
Skip Nye Silverthorne, lead Glyn Howells, second Robert Sweeting, third Keith Blackman came up against a solid rock face, in the form of J.K.Evans and his men. Little can be said for the Bells on this rink, despite not dropping heads, were 9-34 down on the 15th. The only score moving over the next three ends, was that of RTB's running out winners by 44 shots to 9. Despite this margin, the Bells ended the game with 5 valuable league points and lost overall by 19 shots For: 67 for 86 against.
