The venue was Abertillery Park, but the week long wet weather threatens the start of this the second annual Charity Match.
Despite all the wind, rain and difficult playing conditions, both teams ran out, in this head to head friendly. Friendly it may have been, competitive definitely and with the game lasted 20 minutes each half IG Doors came out on top with a 33 - 17 win.
Tries scored for the IG Doors, Les Mcpheason, Mark Powell, Lennie Woodward, Wes Fisher, Carl Martin and 4 conversions by Christian Carpenter.
Tries scored for the Cwmtillery Saracens, Mark Williams, Lee Richards and Jonathan Price with a conversion also kicked by Mark Williams.
The Charity Match raised well over £2,000, of which £1,000 went to the Pen-y-Cwm special needs school, the Hospice of the Valley. £1,000 for a IG Doors employees relation, who is in need of a specialised wheelchair. The remainder £442.00 will go to Jack Witchard appeal[ Read more about 2 year old Jack ].
