The situation regarding Cwmtillery
Saracens is this:-
During pre-season training attendance levels were good
compared to other clubs in the area.
Abertillery last year made a statement that this year
they would try to reform but by picking up local
youngsters to play for their home town. Some of the
Saracens squad transferred to Abertillery, followed by
several more players who have now also joined them. The
player left have told us that if we were to continue /
start back up then they would return.
As it currently stands we have informed both the WRU and
Gwent Districts RU that for the moment we have
'suspended play' but we have not disbanded on the hope
that some time in the near future we could tryout a few
friendlies.
Currently we are helping out all clubs in the area
regarding offering them players to allow them to
function and in return most clubs have offered us any
assistance that they can provide to help us.
Our link with Abertillery Comprehensive school rugby
side has grown this year with us taking on the new year
7 as well as year 8 and 9.
