Cwmtillery Saracens RFC - Match Reports
Trefil 67 Cwmtillery Saracens 19
Trefil Vs Cwmtillery Trefil stormed to an easy 67 - 19 win in the semi-final. Trefils vast experience showed from the very start scoring 27 uncontested points in 22m.
Cwmtillery stuck to their task though and continued to bravely defend the onslaught which on times resembled a scene from Hawkes Drift. Their perseverance paid off and turned around at half time with only a 15 point deficit. Trefil continued to attack the Cwmtillery line and could easily have scored more if not for the strong tackling by the struggling
Cwmtillery side especially outside half Alun Edmunds who seemed to be the focal point of Trefils forwards attack. Trefil totally outplayed Cwmtillery in all aspects of this game and proved why they are arguably the best district club in Wales at the moment. Cwmtillery's points came from a strong powerful run by Tim Gifford, a 60m interseption try by Gareth Davies and the boot of fullback Mark Williams.
